Growing up in the 80s meant you were surrounded by Star Wars. It was a large part of my childhood. From toys to Halloween costumes to records we had it all. Now, fast forward a few decades, and I’m sharing all the things I loved about Star Wars back then and enjoying new Star Wars movies and characters and with my daughter. Today, you can bring home Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi on 4k! (also available in BluRay and DVD)
Is there a difference between 4k and BluRay? I often wondered about this before I took the leap and bought a 4k television and player. There’s a HUGE difference! The picture is much sharper and defined. And if you have a large television, like we do (55inches) it can make you feel like you’re back in the movie theater watching it for the first time. The only thing missing will be those reclining chair and movie theater popcorn.
In Episode VIII we really get to know Rey. We see her struggle to control her power and we see just how powerful she is. Much more powerful than I ever imagined! Luke Skywalker is training Rey and even he is concerned with how much power he is seeing.
We also get to see Princess Leia in power and witness how she runs the fleet. Leia is one powerful and strong woman! She makes some tough choices and leads the people through battle.
There’s a lot going on in Episode VIII and we get to know many characters more in-depth and witness them grow more powerful and question themselves and those around them. I’m not going to go into much detail because I do not want to ruin this movie for the Star Wars fans out there. But I will tell you, it’s a great movie, my whole family, and extended family loved it when we saw it in the movie theater over Christmas break.
Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is now available in 4k, BluRay, DVD and digital at your local retailer or online.
