Camp Warner Bros. Week 4: Scooby-Doo and the Wrestle Mania Mystery

This summer is just flying by! Can you believe we are on week 4 of Camp Warner Bros? Last week we had so much fun making Gummy Bear Slime. How about you? Did the kids enjoy it? This week we are going to make a Scooby snack and watch Scooby-Doo and the Wrestle Mania Mystery. It’s perfect for those days it’s so hot outside that you need to stay. I have coloring sheets, a snack recipe and an awesome movie! What more could a kid ask for?

I grew up watching Scooby-Doo after school and loved it! I think most of us parents did. It’s nice to be able to share one of my childhood favorite series with my daughter. Let’s me relive some of my childhood! The one thing I remember from every show is that Shaggy and Scooby-Doo were always eating. Like they would do anything for a Scooby snack. Do you remember all the things Fred would bribe them to do with just the mention of a Scooby snack? I do!  That must have been one impressive treat. Today, we are making our own Scooby snack. Maybe we’ll finally understand why Shaggy and Scooby would do anything for a Scooby snack?

To make this tasty Scooby Snack treat you will need the following –

9 C of Rice Cereal (we purchased Chex)
1 C Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 C Peanut Butter, smooth
1/4 C Butter, unsalted preferred for our household
1 1/2 C Powdered Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Gallon Size Plastic Bag
Large Bowl
Plastic Paper or Wax Paper on large cookie sheet

This recipe moves fairly quickly. There will also need to be an adult to help with melting the chocolate to make sure no one gets a little burn.

In your large bowl, measure the cereal and pour it in! This one the kids can do on their own.

In another bowl, that is microwave safe, combine the butter, chocolate, and peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals to melt them together. Be sure to stir the mixture in between each 30-second interval. This should take no longer than 1 minute 30 seconds. Anything longer and you are probably going to overcook your chocolate making it into a hard rock-like substance. Trust me, I know this from personal experience.

Add the vanilla extract to the melted chocolate mixture and stir to combine.

Pour the chocolate mixture into the bowl with your rice cereal. Carefully fold the cereal and chocolate mixture together. You want to create an even coating of the chocolate mixture on to the cereal.

Transfer your chocolate covered cereal mixture to the plastic bag and add in the powdered sugar. Give it a few good shakes to get the powdered sugar all over the cereal.

Pour the cereal out on the cookie sheet to cool.

Once cool, enjoy!

You’ve made your very own Scooby Snacks! And I must admit, they are delicious, though I’m still not going in any dark room to check for a mysterious man no matter how many Scooby Snacks Fred promises me.

While the Scooby Snacks are cooling this is the perfect time for the little to bust out the crayons and do a little coloring sheet from Scooby-Doo and the Wrestle Mania Mystery.

Once your snacks are ready it’s time to watch Scooby-Doo and the Wrestle Mania Mystery! I’m so excited!!
