Can you believe it’s almost Valentine’s Day? It feels like the year is going by so quickly! Today, I’m going to share with you one of my favorite places to visit when we are celebrating the holidays. My go-to store, for any life event, is Hy-Vee! Hy-Vee has it all. It’s my one-stop store where I can find delicious eats, beautiful flowers, and gifts. I utilize the aisles online at least once a week.
If you are not familiar with aisles on line I’ll tell you a little about it. Every week I sit down and meal plan for the week, then I open up the Hy-Vee aisles online app or website and do my grocery shopping. I can do my grocery shopping while waiting for Peyton to be done with swim practice or from the comfort of my bed while watching my favorite show. I just search for the items I need, add to cart, make a note or two, choose a pick-up time, and checkout. Hy-Vee shops my order, texts me with updates or questions, and then I show up during my pick-up time and all my groceries are loaded in my car! It’s a wonderful service.
But today, we are shopping in-store. Today, I am purchasing my whole Valentine’s Day celebration dinner at Hy-Vee.
Another little time-saver I like to use is picking up prepared meals at Hy-Vee. Or as they call them, short cuts. In the produce aisles, they have a section devoted to short cuts. This was my first stop in the store and I picked up a tray of deviled eggs. I looked around and they had some fruit and vegetable trays along with a few side dishes. I was not sure what I was going to choose for our main meal so made a mental note of the vegetable selection and started to make my way to the butcher counter.
The Hy-Vee butcher counter is one of my favorite places to stop by. They have seasoned meats that are ready to cook along with sides. Today, the stuffed pork chops caught my eyes. Typically I would’ve chosen a nice cut of beef and grilled it, but we are having a snowstorm so I opted for a variety of stuffed pork chops. I also picked up a few of their twice-baked loaded potatoes to go with the pork chops. The butcher told me they both cooked at the same temp for about the same amount of time so of course, I had to get them.
Now I had my appetizer, main dish, and one side dish, but I felt like we needed something more to round out this meal. I headed back to the short cuts case and picked up some asparagus that was already prepped and ready to go.
But I still felt like we needed more, so on to the bakery we went! The bakery was full of cakes, tortes, cookies, and more. But the giant Valentine’s themed sugar cookies really caught my eye. As did the cookie sandwich. So I picked a few of those up for dessert.
The meal was complete but I wanted to pick up some gifts for the family so off to the Valentine’s candy aisle I went. I chose an assortment of heart-shaped box chocolates, one for each special person in my life. And every year, I always stop in the beauty section of Hy-Vee and pick up the heart-shaped bath bombs for Peyton and her best friend. The girls just love them!
Because we are celebrating love and family I wanted to bring home a fresh bouquet of flowers. Hy-Vee has a full floral department with fresh cut flowers, plants, and floral arrangements ready to purchase. I picked up a lovely bouquet to add to our table for Valentine’s Day.
I purchased everything I wanted for Valentine’s Day dinner at Hy-vee. The food, boxed chocolates, and flowers in one stop.
Hy-Vee makes it possible for me to make all our special moments in life a celebration. They make it convenient by giving me so many solutions at my fingertips. I can order a completely prepared meal to take home in enjoy or utilize a shortcut they provide by having a vast selection of seasoned meats ready to purchase, or I can order my groceries online and they’ll do the shopping for me.
