Cheese Hearts and Turkey Bites Bento Box

July 20, 2016 By Shanna Leave a Comment

Peyton is really into finger foods lately. And she’s always been a fan of cheese. I’m not sure if it’s because I ate a ton of Colby Jack cheese, pepperoni and crackers when I was pregnant or if it’s a coincidence? Well, today I indulged her taste buds and made her Colby Jack Cheese, Turkey bites and Ritz crackers.Heart Shaped Cheese and Turkey Bites Bentgo BoxHaving boring slabs or chunks of Colby Jack cheese in the lunch box is boring! So, I decided to take out my mini cookie cutters and turn those cheese slabs into hearts. I do take short cuts and buy the individually packaged thick sliced cheese. Then when I need to I unwrapped them and cut them into shapes I know Peyton will enjoy.

I went with Turkey bites today because I was trying to be a tad healthier and give Peyton some variety from the beef bites.

For some reason, Peyton really loves having her grapes sliced in two. Not sure what the fascination is but we have 2 bags of grapes in our fridge so I sliced them up. I like doing it this way because I can get a few more grapes into her lunch. I also did a wedge sliced apricot. We have so much fresh fruit that is going to spoil if we do not use it up soon.

Having some yogurt in her lunch box not only gives her a dairy boost but it’s fun to dip the fruit in!

I finished off the lunch with a few patriotic Skittles. We  had these for the 4th of July and for some reason the kids never got into them. But I have been using them as the treat in Peyton’s lunch box!

Here’s a list to some of the items I used today to make Peyton’s lunch –
