This week is a going to be hot! The Midwest is under a heat dome for the next few weeks so now is the perfect time to take in a movie to cool down. The Hill opens nationwide in theaters this week, August 25th.
The Hill is based on the true life story of Rickey Hill and journey to overcome his physical handicap so he can try out for major league baseball. Hill was born with a degenerative spinal disease and wore leg braces growing up in small town in Texas. Hill loved baseball and loved playing. His father tried to disude him from playing but that didn’t stop him. He kept playing baseball and over the years became really good. So good, that people thought he was a “baseball phenomenon.”
When Hill decides he wants to try out for the major legues, despite his fathers reservations, it divides the family.
The Hill has a star filled roster will actors like Dennis Quaid (James Hill – the father), Joelle Carter (Helen Hill – the mother) and Scott Glen (Red Murff – The recruiter). Ricky Hill is played by Colin Ford.
The Hill is a movie for anyone that loves baseball. It’s a film the whole family can enjoy.
