Disney Mickey Cinnamon Rolls (Easy Copycat Recipe)

Disney Mickey Cinnamon Rolls (Easy Copycat Recipe)

You don’t have to book a Disney vacation to enjoy one of the parks’ cutest breakfast treats! These Disney Mickey Cinnamon Rolls are inspired by the limited-time Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls that debuted during Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

When Disney introduced these adorable cinnamon rolls, they quickly became a fan favorite. Their iconic Mickey shape made them almost too cute to eat, and Disney fans everywhere began recreating them at home. The best part? You only need a package of refrigerated cinnamon rolls and a little creativity to make your own version.

Whether you’re planning a Disney movie night, celebrating a birthday, hosting a Disney-themed brunch, or simply looking for a fun weekend breakfast, these Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls are guaranteed to bring smiles to the table.

Since they’re made with refrigerated cinnamon rolls, they’re easy enough for kids to help make and are ready in just minutes.

Why You’ll Love These Disney Mickey Cinnamon Rolls

  • Inspired by Walt Disney World’s famous Mickey cinnamon rolls
  • Only 2 simple ingredients
  • Ready in about 20 minutes
  • Fun Disney-themed breakfast
  • Perfect for Disney movie nights
  • Kid-friendly recipe
  • Great for birthdays and brunches
  • Easy enough for beginners

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • Blue icing (or blue food coloring to tint the included icing)

Ingredient Notes

Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls

Any refrigerated cinnamon roll brand works well. Large cinnamon rolls create the best Mickey shape.

Blue Icing

The original Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary version featured bright blue icing. If your cinnamon rolls include white icing, simply tint it with blue food coloring.

How to Make Disney Mickey Cinnamon Rolls

Step 1: Preheat

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

Place the oven rack in the center position.

Step 2: Make Mickey’s Head

Place one whole cinnamon roll onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

This will become Mickey’s face.

Step 3: Make Mickey’s Ears

Take a second cinnamon roll and carefully unroll it.

Roll each end inward until you create two small spiral rolls.

These become Mickey’s ears.

Pinch each ear securely onto the large cinnamon roll.

Step 4: Bake

Bake according to the package directions, usually 10–12 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are fully cooked and lightly golden.

Step 5: Decorate

Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool slightly.

Spread or drizzle the blue icing over each Mickey cinnamon roll.

Serve warm.

Tips for Perfect Mickey Cinnamon Rolls

  • Pinch the ears firmly onto the head before baking.
  • Leave space between each cinnamon roll while baking.
  • Use parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  • Let the rolls cool for a couple of minutes before icing.
  • Add Disney-themed sprinkles for extra magic.

Fun Variations

Classic White Icing

Skip the blue icing and use the icing included with the cinnamon rolls.

Disney Christmas Version

Decorate with red and green sprinkles.

Birthday Mickey Rolls

Add colorful sprinkles after icing.

Chocolate Mickey Rolls

Drizzle melted chocolate over the icing.

Mickey & Minnie

Add a small red bow made from fondant or candy to create Minnie Mouse.

Storage

Store leftover cinnamon rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Reheat for about 10–15 seconds in the microwave before serving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to use blue icing?

No. The blue icing recreates the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary version, but regular white icing tastes just as delicious.

Can kids help make these?

Absolutely! Kids love helping shape Mickey’s ears and decorate the finished cinnamon rolls.

Can I make these with homemade cinnamon rolls?

Yes! Homemade cinnamon roll dough works wonderfully if you have extra time.

Can I freeze them?

Yes. Freeze after baking but before icing. Thaw and warm before decorating.

Are these officially Disney’s recipe?

No. This is a homemade copycat recipe inspired by the limited-time cinnamon rolls served during Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration.
