BBQ ribs are one of my favorite meals. I love the tender, juicy meat with the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. But finding the time to slow roast them can be a challenge. These Crockpot BBQ Ribs are perfect for those days you need a long cooking dish and want a delicious dinner. The longer you cook them the more tender they are. So a good 7-9 hours, depending on the thickness, is perfect!
To make a batch of my BBQ Ribs you will need the following –
1 slab pork ribs
1 bottle Famous Dave’s Sweet and Sassy BBQ Sauce
1 can Coke
Your favorite dry rub
There is about 5 minutes of prep work and then you are done!
First, rinse your ribs and pat dry with paper towels. You want to make sure they are dry from the water before we move on to the next step.
Next, generously pour your favorite dry rub on the ribs and rub it in.
Then, place the ribs, bone side touching the outside of the crockpot.
Pour about 1/3 of the bottle onto the ribs.
Pour the can of Coke in the Crockpot, be sure to not wash off your dry rub or BBQ sauce.
Cover and cook on slow for 7-9 hours.
When the time is up, line a baking sheet with tinfoil. Carefully remove the ribs and place them with the bone side down on the baking sheet.
Pour the remaining BBQ sauce on top of the ribs
Broil in the oven for 5-8 minutes. You want the sauce to be bubbly so depending on how thick you put the sauce on you may need less or more time.
Remove from oven and enjoy!
