Our weather is changing. I can feel winter knocking on our door. As I am going through our winter gear and seeing what I need to purchase for this year I am reminded of all the hats, gloves and scarves we lost last year. This year I am determined to not lose any of them! I know we will. It’s bound to happen that some will be dropped on the way to and from school but if they had a label in them the school would know who to return them to. Last year I had to dig through the lost and found more than once. Do you know how many pairs of black mittens and gloves I saw? Tons! It’s one of the only choices for boys winter gear.
This year I’m using Label Daddy to help me recover Peyton’s lots winter gear. With the variety of sizes, I can purchase labels that will fit on everything from zippers to boots. And yes, you need to label jackets. When I was digging through lost and found there were several winter coats. Like, really nice and expensive winter coats. How a child went home in the middle of winter without a jacket is beyond me, but it does happen.
I even plan on putting labels inside Peyton’s boots because she is known for leaving her shoes behind. This way, if the gym teacher finds her boots he’ll know who they need to be returned to. With over 300 kids in her school that means that any given day there are at least 600 pairs of shoes in the school if not more. The kids wear boots to school and then change into other shoes. And some kids have special gym shoes. Not one staff member is going to be able to remember who’s shoes are whos if they are left behind. Put if they see your child’s name they’ll know who to return them to!
This time, I ordered Finding Nemo labels for Peyton. She just loves Finding Dory and since I couldn’t get labels specifically for Finding Dory I took the Finding Nemo labels and chose Dory out of them. Now all her winter gear will be labeled with Dory! So when she drops a glove, misplaces a shoe and it’s found, they will know who to return it to.
