Even though summer is coming to a close there is still plenty of time to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather. Fun Wheel Rentals is a great way to spend some time together as a family, get some exercise and take in the sights. Recently, I took my family for a morning excursion around Minnehaha Falls with the help of Fun Wheel Rentals. There are 4 locations in Minneapolis to try out, each by different parks and lakes with scenic paths to travel.
We did enjoy our time at Fun Wheel Rentals but I have a couple of tips to share with you all.
Directions
Call ahead and verify the address. The location we had showed one address online which Siri and the GPS said did not exist. Then when we searched through the GPS it gave another address. We went there and there was no rental place. It was an empty parking lot. But once we called for directions we found it in a few minutes.
Water
This is a workout. A fun workout but still a workout. So make sure everyone brings a water bottle with them. Bring a little backpack to store them in. The multi-person bikes have baskets in front for toddlers where you can place the backpack with water. Snacks
This is a fun bike ride around the lakes and parks. Feel free to bring some snacks or a light lunch with you. Then when you find a spot pull over and take a break. Enjoy some treats, look around and relax.
Shoes
Make sure everyone around you wears tennis shoes. This is no different than riding a bike at home. You are going to want to wear closed toe shoes and tennis shoes really are the best for this activity.
Helmets
Everyone in your party that is under the age of 14 must wear a helmet. They do have helmets you can borrow if you forget but some kids are picky. Plus your own helmet is already set for your comfort so you won’t waste time adjusting a helmet. If you take my few suggestions you will have a blast! I must also let you know, it is work. This is not something 1 adult can do with 3 kids under 10. You need some leg muscle to power this ride. We went with 2 adults, a 6-year-old and a 9-year-old. The kids couldn’t touch the pedals so it was down to us 2 adult pedaling. Yes, we could do it. But if we would have had 1 more adult going up those little hills would’ve been so much easier! There were times one of us had to get out and push the bike up the hill. Our legs got a workout!
