Family Game Night with Sapphiro

Family game night is coming back! Whenever my nephews are over we always play board games. I prefer the kids playing board games than parking themselves in front of the television all day. I’m not saying they do not watch any television but I do limit the time they spend in front of the television. When we take trips or go camping we take board games with. Have you ever been stuck inside a tent during a storm with kids?? Well, I have. And a board game comes in really handy. Sapphiro is the newest addition to our board game collection.

Sapphiro by MindwareSapphiro is an awesome game! It took a few games for the kids to grasp the concept but once they understood how the game worked they couldn’t get enough. It’s a game of skill and a little luck. It really makes the player think and strategize. I love strategy games.

SapphiroSo here’s how you play – Take the board game out, place all the round gems in the circular openings. Then, take the game tiles and try to match the colors to the gem. But here’s the catch – when a tile touches 2 gems you need to have the colors line up. The first person to get 6 tiles around the gemstone wins! It’s lots of fun. It’s suggested for ages 6 and up and I would have to agree with that assessment. If you have a younger child that is quick with matching and patterns they would be able to play too.

Sapphiro Board Game by MindwareSapphiro is a game that makes your brain think. I find it fascinating to sit back and watch the kids. You can literally see their little minds at work while they are trying to finish their gem before the next one does.

Sapphiro is made from wood. Real wood. You don’t find that often. The tiles are also wood. This is the type of game I would keep on the coffee table so the kids can play it whenever they want. It looks nice and it’s made with quality products. However, I have cats and those gems are so tempting to them. You can find Sapphiro by MindWare online well as many other boardgames. Bring back family night with Sapphiro!
