First Thoughts on CMX Market Cinema Experience at Mall of America

Peyton and I have been waiting for the Mall fo America to open it’s theaters back up since the day they closed them. There is nothing like taking a break from the craziness of the mall and watching a movie. And finally, after years of no theaters, we have them again! CMX Market Cinema Experience recently opened at Mall of America on the 4th level. It’s in the exact same place as the previous movie theaters but heavily renovated.

CMX Market Cinema Experience at Mall of AmericaWith all the hype of this new movie theater being an experience I was a little concerned about the ticket prices. I had heard rumors of crazy ticket prices of $20+ per person! No way would I pay that much to sit in a movie theater! But that’s all it was, rumors. There was no truth to that. As of today, the prices are –

Matinees –

$10 Adult

$ 8 Child, Senior, Military

Other times –

$14 Adult

$10 Child, Senior

There is a military discount but it looks like it’s only available for matinees. There is also a rewards club that could save you a dollar off regular price tickets, lowering it from $14 to $13.

The seating is premium with leather recliners, charging stations, footrest, and a little side table. Because of these amazing seats that means there are fewer seats in each theater. When we went to buy our tickets to Avengers: Infinity War there were no more sections of 3 seats by each other. In fact, there were mostly single seats available with only 1 option for 2 seats together. And it was over an hour before the movie started! We learned our lesson and will definitely be buying our tickets ahead of time online.

We did order dinner and bring it into the theater with us. After all, that’s what this experience is known for! Gourmet food while you watch your movie. The prices were comparable to a restaurant and the quality was pretty good.  I will warn you, order one fry and split it. It’s huge!! We all ordered sandwiches and shared 1 fry between the three of us. There are plenty of options from pizzas to burgers to milkshakes and more. They even have a large grab and go section filled with gourmet salads, deli sandwiches, and snack items. The drink selection is phenomenal! From beer to gourmet waters to premium beverages to fountain sodas they have it all.  Your favorite movie snacks are still available, Peyton picked up her favorite candy before we headed in. But now you have options. Like tons of options!

CMX Market Cinema Experience at Mall of AmericaHaving CMX Market Cinema Experience at Mall of America is a welcomed addition. I am so happy to have a movie theater back at the mall!
