Game Day Pepperoni Pizza Sliders

Getting together with friends and family to watch the big game together is a tradition for many people. Besides spending time with friends and family, my favorite part of the day is all the food! There are usually huge spreads of a wide array of food at all these gatherings.  But the one thing I’ve noticed that there is not always kid-friendly food. So here’s a dish, that adults and kids, can both enjoy, Game Day Pepperoni Pizza Sliders!

Pepperoni Pizza SlidersThey are a huge hit with the kids, they get the taste of pizza without having a slice of pizza!

Here is what you’ll need to make your own tray of Game Day Pepperoni Pizza Sliders –

1 package Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, original, 12 ct
1 C Pizza or Marinara Sauce
2 1.2 C Mozzarella Cheese
1 pkg Pepperoni Slices
1/4 C Butter, unsalted, melted
2 tbsp Dried Minced Onion
2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
2 tsp Dried Oregano
3/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper

9×13 Baking Dish
Tin Foil
Cooking Spray

The first step is to preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.  Then line your 9×13 baking dish with tin foil and spray with cooking spray. Trust me, use the tin foil. It will make cleanup so much easier.

Slice the Hawaiian Sweet Rolls in two while keeping them together. So you will have two large slabs. Using a serrated knife works best.  Place the bottom slab of rolls into the pan you prepared.

Pour the pizza sauce over the bottom rolls. Be sure to spread the sauce evenly over the rolls.

Use about 1/2 C of the Mozzarella cheese and spread it evenly over the rolls.

Place an even layer of pepperoni on top of the cheese.

Use the remaining Mozzarella cheese and spread over the pepperoni.

Add the top layer of rolls.

In a microwave-safe bowl melt the butter. Stir in the onion, parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture on top of the buns.

Pepperoni Pizza SlidersCover with tin foil, be sure to leave room at the top so the cheese does not stick to it. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes before putting the pan in the oven.

Pepperoni Pizza SlidersBake for 12-16 minutes on the middle rack.  You may need to go a little longer if your cheese is thick, be sure that all the cheese is melted.

Slice into individual sliders and serve. These are best warm right out of the oven.

Pepperoni Pizza SlidersNot only are they perfect for game day but they are great sleepover late-night snacks too! Be sure to check out some of our desserts that would be great for get-togethers too.
