Get Ready for Christmas

Who doesn’t love the Berenstain Bears? I LOVE them. I remember growing up and just being captivated by them. I remember growing up and heading to our local amusement park that had a Berenstain Bears section dedicated to the little ones. It’s gone now. So my daughter will never know the joy of playing in Berenstain Bears land but I can still share my love of them with her through books.  In  Get Ready for Christmas the Berenstain Bears are decorating for the Christmas holiday. But when they come to the box that is supposed to be filled with items for the manger it is empty, except for baby Jesus.

This put the Berenstain Bears on a mission to hunt through the house, high and low, to find the rest of the manger. As they search the house, they find the manger in Mama and Papa’s room behind a picture. The Christmas Star in the living room, behind a vase. The three wise men behind a clock in the living room. They continue searching until they have found the whole manger.

By the end of the book the Berenstain Bears have searched every room of the house and found each missing piece. Now they can complete the manger scene. A wonderful touch to this book is it’s a flap book. So as you are reading the book to your child they can lift the flaps and find the missing pieces! It’s a super cute way to celebrate the holidays and get a little reading time in.
