If I can purchase something from a US based company I do. And if I can purchased something from a Minnesota-based company even better! I’ve grown up in Minnesota my whole life. I love this place. We have four breathtaking seasons and are surrounded by history. I couldn’t imagine raising my daughter any place but Minnesota. When I saw the Faribault Mill made these spectacular wool blankets I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them.
I come from a military family. My grandfather was airforce and I spent many family vacations on military bases. My step-dad was Navy. My uncle was Army. And my brother-in-law is Navy. I could go on and on. I have family and friends in every branch of the service. Faribault Mill makes these incredibly warm wool blankets that honor the military. I received the Army Medic Green wool blanket to try out. And let me tell you, it’s warm!
The quality of this blanket is impressive. It’s thick and heavy just as it should be. The Faribault Mill is just under 2 hours away from me, in a small town south of the Twin Cities. They take pride in making a quality blanket. Did you know you can even tour the mill? I’m thinking Peyton and I may have to take a trip down there and check it out. I’m always up for tours and learning how things are made.
The Faribault Mill was established in 1865 and has been making wool blankets since. They provided blankets to our men for two world wars. They truly are a part of American History. The same quality our men experienced during the 1800s and 1900s can still be experienced today.
How amazing is it that a company founded in 1865 is still around and thriving in today’s economy? The Faribault Mill is still producing high-quality blankets today. If you have a loved one in the service consider getting them a blanket from Faribault Mill. It’s a wonderful way to honor their service.
Faribault Mill also makes other wool blankets you can use throughout your home. From throws to blankets they have it all. Be sure to check out their line on The Grommet.
