Halloween and weight loss are not two activities you would put together. But, sometimes in life, we may be trying to lose weight during the holidays. Kind of like I am! Here are a few things I am going to be doing to help keep my on track during Halloween.
Halloween is a busy day for us moms. Between getting the kids up for school and rushing them out the door just to come and get ready for the evening festivities or head off to work. For me, I dropped Peyton off at school and then headed to work. I knew I was only going to be working till 2 pm so I made sure I had healthy options with me because I wasn’t going to be having a lunch break today.
On days like this, I bring meal bars with me. There’s all the protein and nutrients my body needs to function but I don’t have to stop and eat. I can eat it while I am working on reports or even running around. My favorite bar is the Fudge Graham Bar. It’s crunchy and has a great chocolate taste. It really feels more like I’m indulging than eating a protein bar.
I also made sure I had a reusable water bottle with me that is easy to carry. Tonight is going to be a lot of walking and I want to make sure I bring my water bottle with me so I can stay on track with getting my water in.
But the hardest time, for some of us, is going to be when the kiddos come home with the candy. I plan on making sure I’m not hungry when I check it over. That way I’ll be less tempted to sneak a piece or two while I’m checking it over. Plus, I ordered a few extra sweet snacks this time around. I made sure to have Nutrichoclates and a variety of cookies on hand for myself. That way if I need something sweet I have options that are on plan.
Once I check over the candy I plan on putting it out of sight. Peyton can enjoy a piece or two a day but I won’t be having it sit on the counter. Having it in your line of vision can be tempting! But having it put up keeps it off your mind.
Those are just a few of the ways I plan on staying on track this Halloween.
