Can you believe it’s nearly Christmas?!? If you are like me, you probably have a gazillion things to do still. Wrap some presents, get the Santa treats ready, clean the house, do some laundry, yadda yadda yadda. It’s a never-ending list. But did you know, tomorrow, Goosebumps 2 will be available to watch on digital??? So after the kids have ripped through all their presents and your house looks like a toy tornado just blew through it, turn on Goosebumps 2, let them veg out while you clean up the house in peace and quiet.
Goosebumps 2 is the sequel to the popular kid’s movie Goosebump – where books come to life. This time, the kids come across an R.L. Stine book when they explore an abandoned house. (Side note – R. L. Stine was one of my favorite authors when I was a teen. The books are suspenseful and you can’t put them down once you start). But then the kids let loose an evil telekinetic puppet named “Slappy”, a character from R. L. Stine’s book. Slappy want to make Halloween come to life and on his quest to accomplish his goal chaos ensues.
That’s a very brief look at Goosebumps 2. If you have tween or teens in the house, this movie will be a hit with them.
While we wait for the digital release, Peyton and I made some Goosebumps 2 Holiday Gummy Bear Bark. It’s a fun, simple recipe that kids can do on their own, plus it tastes great! And it also helps remove one item off my to-do list – Make a treat for Santa. So this year, Santa is getting some Holiday Gummy Bear Bark to enjoy with his milk.
Really simple recipe –
Milk Chocolate Chips
Dark Chocolate Chips
White Chocolate Chips
Haribo Gummy Bears
Holiday Sprinkles
I used a 24 ounce bag of milk chocolate chips, which is the large bag, then a small bag of dark chocolate and 1/2 a small bag of white chocolate. There’s really no wrong way to make this. Just have fun.
First, melt your milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe container at 30-second intervals. Be sure to stir them every 30 seconds, otherwise, you may burn your chocolate and it’ll become rubbery.
Once the milk chocolate is melted, spread it on a pan that is covered with parchment paper. Use a spatula to spread it out.
Next, place the small bag of dark chocolate in a microwave-safe container and heat in the microwave in 3o second intervals. Be sure to stir this one too. Once melted, you can either drizzle it all over the milk chocolate or place dollops of dark chocolate throughout the milk chocolate. Take a toothpick and swirl the two chocolates together.
Take a handful or two of Haribo Gummy Bears and sprinkle them all over the chocolate.
Place in the fridge or freezer for about 10 – 15 minutes to harden
Next, place the white chocolate chips in a zip lock bag and heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Knead the bag in between heating to make sure the chocolate does not burn.
Remove the chocolate from the fridge.
Cut the corner off the ziplock bag and drizzle the white chocolate over the pan of chocolate you just removed from the fridge.
Sprinkle you holiday sprinkles all over. Place back in the fridge or freezer to harden.
Once the chocolate is hard, break it into chunks. That it! It’s super simple and takes a few minutes to make.
We’ll be placing a plate of Holiday Gummy Bear Bark out this holiday season for Santa to enjoy while he puts our presents under the tree.
Peyton will be enjoying a plate tomorrow afternoon while she watches Goosebumps 2 on digital and I pick up the holiday chaos that is about to ensue.
Remember – Goosebumps 2 is available tomorrow on digital. It’ll be available to bring home on January 15th.
