Peyton is at the age where I really want to encourage her to read. I want her to find her passion in reading. Experience how a book can take you to far off exotic places without leaving your home. National Geographic Kids has a line of chapter books geared towards encouraging children to embrace their curiosity and learn about different topics.
We were sent a variety of National Geographic Kids books for Peyton to try out. First thing I noticed was that there are different levels to these books. There is even a Pre-Reader level for those readers that are ready to read but may not be there just yet. The next level is level 1: Starting to Read. When I look back at Peyton and how she learned to read I would say the level 1 was when she was learning to read. So for us, that was kindergarten. Level 2 is reading independently. That’s where I would place Peyton now. She loves to read books but she does come to me every once in a while to help with larger words. The final level is 3 and this is for the fluent readers. Peyton will be there shortly. I would say by end of summer for sure she would be a level 3. The National Geographic Kids Readers are perfect for preschooler through third grade.
There is even a level called level 1 co-reader. I really like this level because then I can read with Peyton. We can take turns! It really helps young readers build confidence and enjoy reading. Plus it lets us get a little one on one time in together.
National Geographic Kids readers even come in Spanish. There really is a book for every reader with National Geographic Kids.
As I was looking through the titles the other thing I noticed is these are educational titles and stories that kids want to read. I saw many about animals, dinosaurs, space exploration and more. Kids are curious by nature and National Geographic kids helps to foster that curiosity and turn it into a love for reading.
If you are looking for chapter books that are enjoyable and educational, consider National Geographic Kids. They have a wide selection of titles across all levels.
