Keep Your Hands Free

Peyton's Momma Product DisclosureIf you are a camper or outdoor enthusiast, keep reading. So last month when Peyton and I went camping we had a carry in site. For those not familiar with that, it’s when you have to carry everything into your campsite. There is no way to drive your car to the site.  Sometimes where you park the car may be a couple hundred feet from camp. But this time, it was about a 10 minutes walk through the woods.

iMate 5000 Lumen Bright HeadlampTypically, I don’t mind making several trips to the car. I usually have a second adult with me while camping. But this time, it was just the two of us. Quickly, I realized what a pain it was going to be lugging all the food back and forth each day. The first night, I started taking the cooler back and I was trying to carry the bag of dry goods at the same time. It was getting dark fast and there was no way I could carry a flashlight, a bag full of dry goods and pull a cooler behind me. Then I remembered something. I had a headlamp in our gear!

iMate 5000 Lumen Bright HeadlampI will admit I felt pretty odd wearing the headlamp, that’s why Peyton is pictured here wearing it. But it was extremely helpful having it with us. I could wear the headlamp and have both my hands free. After the first trip to the car, I quickly got over my feelings about wearing a headlamp. Then I looked around at other campers and many people had them. Immediately, I noticed a bunch of teen girls wearing headlamps. I guess these are a cool piece of gear to have!

As soon as Peyton saw the older girls wearing headlamps she wanted to wear ours. For the one time I got to wear the headlamp I found it to be comfortable. The straps are adjustable, the position of the light is adjustable and I quickly got used to wearing it. iMate 5000 Lumen Bright HeadlampIf you spend time outdoors or do activities that require your hands to be free, a headlamp is something you want to look into. The headlamp I have has three modes – I can turn the big light on, the two small ones by themselves or all 3 lights on at once. I personally like all 3 on at once. I want to see where I am heading. You can pick up the same one I have on amazon.
