Lemon Essential Oil aka The Miracle Worker

I have been using essential oils for years to help me with various health concerns. I am a strong believer in using essential oils with a combination of common sense and western medicine to keep myself and my family healthy. And my go to essential oil is lemon. Lemon is extremely versatile and can help with a multitude of things. But not all essential oils are created equal.

Simply Earth Lemon Essential Oil

I recently discovered Simply Earth essential oils and I am loving them!  Simply Earth is a company founded by two brothers with the mission of creating high quality products at affordable prices. They also give a portion of each sale to a cause, choosing a different cause each month. This month the cause is human trafficking. 13% of each sale will go to stop human trafficking. I cannot think of a better company to spend my money with. The oils are high quality (in my opinion same high quality as some very expensive direct sales brands I’ve used), it’s a family owned company and gives back to various charitable causes. So now that we’ve established these are high quality oils from a stand up company let me tell you what you can do with lemon essential oils.

There are so many uses for lemon essential oils, be sure if you are going to ingest any essential oil that you have consulted with a doctor. Here are my top 3 favorite uses for lemon oil with using a diffuser.

1. Silver Polish – Soak a rag in lemon oil and use it to polish up those tarnished pieces of silver. Also works wonders on wood.

2. All Natural Goo Be Gone – Instead of buying a chemical laden version at the store simply take a some lemon oil and remove stuck on stickers or the goo left behind once you remove them.

3. Laundry – Ever forget a load of laundry in the washer? And it gets that nasty smell? Add a few drops of lemon oil to the load and smell be gone!

I also like to use lemon oil in a diffuser year round and when I travel. Lemon is a disinfectant and will kill bacteria and germs. I like to put about 8-10 drops in my diffuser 2-3 times a day during cold and flu season. I have also found that my sinus infections tend to clear faster when I use my lemon oil, diffuser and antibiotics in unison. And I even have a travel diffuser I take with me. Last year when we went to Disney World I took lemon essential oil and a diffuser. Every night when we came in from the parks I started it up. Made sure what ever germs and nastiness we were exposed to during they day didn’t linger on us.

If you are new to essential oils and just starting to dabble I highly recommended picking up lemon. It smells wonderful and has so many uses. It’s a great essential oil for beginners. And once  you start using it you are sure to keep using it and it will become a staple in your essential oil collection.

You can purchase a bottle of Simply Earth lemon oil directly from Simply Earth and have 13% of your sale help prevent human trafficking or from Amazon.
