Chances are if you have a preschooler in the home you’re familiar with The Lion Gaurd. Peyton used to love watching The Lion Guard nonstop when she was in Kindergarten. It was a fairly new show and she would beg me to record it so she could watch it when she got home from school. Even now, being a second grader, she still enjoys watching it. She loves to watch it on her iPad so she can binge-watch several episodes at once.
In The Lion Guard: The Rise of Scar we see the Hyenas trick Kion into using the Roar when he shouldn’t be using it. The drought is getting to everyone, there is barely any water to be found and the heat is taking a toll on the animals. The hyenas keep taunting Kion to use the roar to make it rain, even though that is not the purpose of the roar. But after their constant badgering and seeing the animals of The Pride Land suffering, Kion gives in and uses the roar to make it rain.
And the consequence of misusing the Roar was that Kion summoned Scar. Remember Scar? Mufasa’s evil brother? You know, the one lion that got Mufasa killed, convinced Simba it was his fault so he’d run away and then took over the pride and let the hyenas rule and nearly starved the pride to death? Yeah, that Scar.
Well, Scar is back and he’s ready to try and reclaim what was never rightfully his in the first place. It’s up to The Lion Guard to fix this. Can they? Can Bunga, Fuli, Beshte, and Ono help Kion send Scar back and rid the Pride Lands of Scar once again? You’ll have to pick up a copy of The Lion Gaurd: The Rise of Scar to find out.
The Lion Gaurd: The Rise of Scar is available at your local retailer or online.
