No, Martians have not landed on Earth and trying to rule mankind. It’s the Awesome Little Green Men (aka mini-Army men by MGA Entertainment) that are taking over. Kids all over are going crazy for them!
If you’re not familiar with Awesome Little Green Men let me tell you about them. It’s a really unique, fun and game that you play with the Awesome Little Green Men and a few items you have around your house. It will provide hours of entertainment for your children, perfect indoor game for when it’s too cold or wet to play outside.
Another fun part of the game is buying the boxes with blind bags of Awesome Little Green Men inside. You never know what player you will get. That’s like half the fun! Just like the Army, there are different ranks for the Awesome Little Green Men and each rank has a different point rating. Those points determine how strong your game piece is.
I also like that you can play this with your friends! Have them bring their Army over and compete to see who can capture the battlefield. While I was going over the rules I noticed there are a lot of skills being taught and practiced in this game. First, the players have to use their math skills to add up all the points of the pieces to make sure that their Army is equal. If one player’s Army is stronger they have to subdue a player with band-aids to reduce the points they are worth until each team is equal.
I also noticed strategy was a huge part of this game. You are setting up your battlefield and then you can only move the players when you flick the coin and are successful at keeping it in the assigned space and do not overshoot. It takes some practice to be able to control your flick. And there are obstacles that you can place throughout the battlefield. The goal of the game is to capture the other team’s possession. And the only way to do that is to attack the other side with your more powerful players and try to “kill” the other team off so you can capture the item. This takes practice!
Awesome Little Green Men are the types of toys that keep kids engaged and entertained while they are learning new skills. And let’s be honest, it’s pretty fun trying to collect all the characters too. You can find Awesome Little Green Men at your local retailer or online. But if you’re giving them as a gift be sure to gift them enough to make a team! Otherwise, they won’t be able to play and that would make for a sad holiday. I would suggest gifting at least 12 characters. You can easily do this by gifting some sets or buying individual boxes.
