A Look Back of My First Week on Nutrisystem

Nutrisystem DisclosureWell, I did it. I survived my first week on Nutrisystem. Well, it really was my Turbo Week on Nutrisystem. Let me tell you, it can be a rough time. That Turbo Week is no joke. But the results are AMAZING! There were moments where I wanted to throw in the towel and dive into a bag of french fries or fried chicken. But I didn’t. I stayed strong. And then I looked at how I ended up in those moments of feeling like I was going to go on a huge calorie fest and destroy all my hard work. You know what? I spotted a trend. By my third near meltdown, I noticed it only happened when I was not prepared.

Nutrisystem Turbo TakeoffPreparation is key. At least it is for me. I’m busy, I’m out running around with Peyton in the evenings and I work all day. Have I told you I work at a tax and accounting firm? And that last week was the last full week of tax season. So yeah, I barely had time to use the potty let alone prep my food. So it was a challenging week. But I made it through.

Roasted CarrotsBy my second day, I started picking up fresh veggies on my break for the next day. I found out I love cherry tomatoes since those are a vegetable and it’s nonstarchy I would consume a container of those a day. A whole 10.5-ounce container! It helped satisfy my craving for sweet and crunchy plus I was able to get 2 servings of veggies in with it.

My next go to trick was roasting veggies the night before and using them for the next day. Roasted carrots are so yummy, even reheated. I went through a few bags of carrots.

Roasted Brussel SproutsLast week I spent my time trying out new veggies and seeing what worked. And I also kept changing it up so I wouldn’t get bored.

Don’t forget to add spices to your veggies! I own every single variety of Mrs. Dash and I use them daily. It’s a great way to spice up food without adding unnecessary calories.

When I weighed in on Monday morning I was surprised. I had followed my Turbo Week to a T and consumed all my water so I knew I would loose some weight. But I never thought it would be 5 pounds! That’s right, I lost 5 pounds in one week with the Turbo Start. I was so excited!! I consumed my 4 servings of vegetable a day, drank 64-80 ounces of water a day and ate all my Nutrisystem meals and snacks. I took their suggestion of limiting strenuous activities this week. I also made sure I was eating every 2 hours or so, small meals. And it paid off.

I know not every week will have these huge strides, but I’m so happy with the results from the Turbo Start week. It has given me confidence and assurance that if I work the plan it will work.

Nutrisystem FoodI have tried several diet programs over the years and nothing has worked. At one point I even invested in a personal trainer. Nada. With Nutrisystem I am losing weight, I feel satisfied and it’s easy! I don’t think I have ever been this happy dieting. Because, when you think about it, it’s really not a “diet”. It’s a lifestyle change. They are teaching me how to eat healthily and in healthy portions. By the time I get through with the program I will have trained myself to live a healthier lifestyle. And the really cool part is…..Peyton is just falling in step! She’s eating small meals with me every few hours and she has taken to her water bottle. We are both going to end this journey healthier than when we started.

If you are ready to start your weight loss journey, sign up! It’s easy. You can sign up with Nutrisystem from the comfort of home. Everything is done online. And did I mention, the food is delicious! Even Peyton has had a few nibbles and she loves it too.
