It’s official; the festive period is finally in full swing. If your little ones have not yet finished school for the holidays, it won’t be long before they do. Then, it’ll just be you and them. So, you’ll probably want to think of some fun activities that you can do together.
Some of these will be perfect for girly girls, and some will be ideal for rough and tumble boys, but there are also lots that you can all do as a family, or with either or! So before you start to stress about how to fill your days this Holiday season, take some inspiration from these fun ideas.
Have A Pamper Night
First up, this could be a great idea if you have a daughter, or to occupy the girls in your family. Pamper nights are super fun. Not only are they something that we as women love, but little girls love them too. So, one night set aside some time and pamper yourself away. Grab your favorite nail polish, face masks and makeup by Ben Nye and pamper yourself pretty!
Make Christmas Cookies
Most kids love sweet treats – a lot of Moms do too. So, it can be a fun idea to all bake together. You can find simple recipes for everything from cookies and muffins to pastries and even pies, online. You can even find specific recipes that will be great to use with your children. Things might get a little messy, but it will be a fun way to spend an afternoon. And, you get to eat the treats at the end too!
Start A New Tradition
With it being the Holidays, you might even want to start a new yearly tradition. Whether your daughter loves American Girl or your son loves video games, you can find something that they both enjoy to do each and every year. Maybe you’d like to treat them to one present early a year or something to add to their collection?
Head To The Sports Field
Is your son sports mad? Maybe he usually heads to a game with your husband, but with it being the festive season he can’t get time off work just yet? If that’s the case, the bundle yourself up and head out to the local sports field. You might want to watch a game together and enjoy the community spirit, or if there are no matches scheduled, why not play a sport with him – it’ll be something he’ll love.
Have A Movie Night
This one is actually ideal for the entire family. Movie nights are the best. Nothing quite beats popping some popcorn, laying out some snacks, getting into your pajamas, and putting on a really good film. So, let that be on your agenda at least once this Christmas. You can even ask each of your children what film they would like to watch and work on getting through them all. Or, if you’re stuck for ideas, there are some great Christmas films on Netflix at the moment that everyone is sure to love.
