The last few weeks of your pregnancy are critical for making your home ready for your new bundle of joy, so do not put off thinking about it any longer, even if it feels like every day is like a month. Make sure your partner, family, and friends are on board with the task because it is a huge one with a lot to consider. Here are a few things to think about and take action on.
Complete all of the odd jobs
What do you do with those bookshelves that have been propped up in the hallway for months but that you have not gotten around to putting up yet? So, you will not be doing it during the next few months either – newborns are quite time-consuming and you will want to be relaxing with a cup of tea in your hand when they are sleeping. With a few weeks on your hands, now is the best time to put them up and complete all of the other small tasks you have been putting off. Make sure you do everything carefully – no awkwardly balancing on ladders or chairs, or moving anything that is particularly heavy. In fact, hire someone to complete the task for you!
Remove all of the clutter
Babies bring with them a plethora of equipment and accessories, which means you will have a lot more stuff to deal with when you start a family. and This contains a pram – potentially a pram, a Moses basket and Moses basket bedding, play gyms, bouncy chairs, and toys, as well as everything else in the middle. You will need to clear up a lot of space to accommodate it, so take advantage of the opportunity to do a thorough cleaning job. If you have items you no longer want or need, you can sell them on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist to try to recoup a few pennies, or you can donate them to a charity shop. In either case, do not hang on to things that are not absolutely required – your future self will thank you.
Everything should be washed
There is a reason we say as soft as a baby’s bottom when it comes to your new child’s skin: it will be extremely fragile. As a result, make certain that all of his or her clothes, bedding, and blankets are washed in a gentle, non-biological detergent. Consider washing your personal clothes and bed linen in the same machine as your new baby’s clothes and bed linen so that you do not irritate their skin when you are attempting to comfort them.
Cook
When you bring your new baby home, you will have a lot on your hands, both physically and figuratively. So set aside some time right now to batch cook. Preparing enough nutritious food ahead of time and storing it in the fridge and freezer can allow you to avoid having to travel far for dinner during those difficult first few weeks.
Some of the preparations you will need to do before welcoming your new baby into the world are listed above/ If you just make a point of doing one or two basic tasks whenever you have the opportunity, your to-do list will be reduced to almost nothing in no time at all!
