New Rules for Valleyfair this Year

Have you heard? Valleyfair is open for the 2023 season! We are so excited!! But there are also some new rules this year too at Valleyfair. Here are a few things you’ll want to know before you go.

Chaperones are required after 4 pm for ages 15 years old and younger

Personally, I really like this rule. Due to the increase in incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior across amusement parks and at other major entertainment venues, Valleyfair will now require anyone under the age of 15 years old to be accompanied by a chaperone over the age of 21 years old.  This rule activates at 4 pm every day.

What that means is this – If you are in the park you will have to leave or have a chaperone with you at 4 pm to close. If you are trying to enter the park you must enter with your chaperone. Each chaperone may accompany 10 people under the age of 15 years per day.

Ticket Prices

There was a slight increase in ticket prices of $2 per day. Daily tickets are $34.99 for one day or $59.99 for a two-day ticket. The two-day ticket does not need to be used consecutively. You can use them any two days this season! So if you plan on going twice I would buy the two-day tickets. There are other ticket options like season passes too.

No Cash

Valleyfair is a cashless venue. They do accept all major credit cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. If you are sending your kid with friends or school don’t worry. There are Cash-to-Card Kiosks, where you can convert your cash into a prepaid debit card you can use anywhere. It’s free and convenient. And don’t worry about using all the money inside the park either. These prepaid debit cards can be used outside of the parks at other stores too.

Valleyfair is one of Minnesota’s treasures. I have enjoyed going to the parks since I was a child and now I enjoy taking my child there. There is something for everyone to do at the park, from Soak City to rollercoasters to the Peanuts area for the littles.  The real question is – Can you cover the park in one day? I don’t think so. To really enjoy all the shows, rides, and food you’ll want 2 days. My family can easily spend a whole day just in Soak City! It’s one of the best waterparks in Minnesota!

While there are a few changes this year, Valleyfair is still a family favorite. It’s a place where kids can be kids and parents can make memories with their children. I know my daughter and her friends cannot wait to visit this year!
