Ninja Foodi Beef Chili

With the craziness of hybrid/distance learning and still working outside of the home, weeknight dinners can be a challenge. I want to feed my child a healthy dinner that is not full of preservatives and empty calories, so I find myself turning to my Ninja Foodi more often. Tonight, we are making Ninja Foodi Beef Chili. I love making chili in the Ninja Foodi because it takes so little time yet tastes like you let it simmer for hours.

To make this yummy Ninja Foodi Beef Chili you will need the following –

1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 med Yellow Onion, diced
1 lb Ground Beef (90/10 if possible)
4 cloves Garlic, minced
1 Red Bell Peper, diced
2 tbsp Chili Powder
1 tbsp Ground Cumin
1 tbsp Dried Oregano
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
4 tbsp Tomato Paste
1 3/4 C Beef Broth
28 ounces Fire Roasted Crushed Tomatoes
1 can Kidney Beans, dark
1 can Kidney Beans, light

This recipe moves quickly so like I usually suggest, lay everything out that you are going to need before you start.

Take the Ninja Foodi and set it to saute. Add the olive oil to your pot and let it warm up for about 5 minutes.

Next, add the diced onion and saute until soft, about 2 minutes.

Add in the ground beef and cook until the meat is browned. Be sure to use a wooden spoon to break up the meat. This should take about 5 minutes.

Then add the garlic and let it sautee for another minute.

Turn off the Ninja Foodi.

Add in the bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, pepper, tomato paste, and broth to your Ninja Foodi. You can stir this.

Next, add the crushed tomatoes and beans. DO NOT STIR.

Place the pressure cooking lid on the Ninja Foodi and seal. Make sure the vent is set to close.

Set the Ninja Foodi to pressure cook, high, 15 minutes.

When the time is up let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes and then open the valve to release the remaining pressure.

Open the Ninja Foodi, give the chili a good stir and then enjoy!

This goes great with our cornbread. You can make it ahead of time in the Ninja Foodi or use our other recipe and make it in the oven while the chili cooks.
