Ninja Foodi Cranberry Sauce

Ninja Foodi Cranberry Sauce

No holiday table is complete without a bowl of homemade cranberry sauce. Its sweet-tart flavor perfectly complements turkey, ham, stuffing, and all of your favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas side dishes. The good news? You don’t have to spend time standing over the stove stirring a saucepan to make it.

This Ninja Foodi Cranberry Sauce is one of my favorite holiday shortcuts. Thanks to the pressure cooker, the cranberries soften in just minutes, creating a rich, flavorful sauce with almost no hands-on work. While the Ninja Foodi does the cooking, you can focus on preparing the rest of your holiday meal.

Fresh orange juice and fragrant orange zest add a bright citrus flavor that perfectly balances the tart cranberries, while honey and sugar create just the right amount of sweetness. Reserving a handful of cranberries until the end gives the sauce a wonderful homemade texture with bursts of whole berries throughout.

Whether you’re making Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, or simply want homemade cranberry sauce without the hassle, this easy Ninja Foodi Cranberry Sauce recipe is sure to become a holiday tradition.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Ready in about 15 minutes
  • No constant stirring required
  • Bright fresh orange flavor
  • Sweet and tart balance
  • Perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Easy to make ahead
  • Tastes even better the next day

Ingredients

  • 1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries
  • 2½ teaspoons orange zest
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ to 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Step 1

Wash the cranberries and remove any stems or soft berries.

Set aside approximately 2 ounces (about ¼ cup) of the cranberries to stir in later.

Step 2

Zest one orange until you have 2½ teaspoons of zest.

Juice the same orange until you have ¼ cup of fresh orange juice.

Step 3

In the Ninja Foodi cooking pot, whisk together the orange juice and honey until the honey has dissolved.

Add:

  • Orange zest
  • 10 ounces of cranberries

Step 4

Secure the pressure cooking lid.

Cook on High Pressure for 1 minute.

Allow the pressure to naturally release for 7 minutes, then carefully perform a quick release to release any remaining pressure.

Step 5

Remove the lid and switch the Ninja Foodi to the Sauté function.

Using a wooden spoon, stir the cranberry mixture, gently breaking down the softened berries as the sauce thickens.

Step 6

Stir in:

  • Reserved cranberries
  • ½ cup sugar

Continue stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Taste the cranberry sauce.

If you’d like it sweeter, gradually add more sugar until it reaches your preferred sweetness. Finish with a small pinch of salt to help balance the flavors.

Step 7

Serve warm or allow the sauce to cool completely before refrigerating.

As it chills, the cranberry sauce will continue to thicken.

Serving Suggestions

This homemade cranberry sauce pairs perfectly with:

  • Roast turkey
  • Honey baked ham
  • Roast chicken
  • Stuffing
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Turkey sandwiches
  • Cheese boards
  • Leftover holiday wraps

Recipe Tips

  • Fresh orange juice gives the brightest flavor, but bottled orange juice can work if needed.
  • If you prefer a smoother cranberry sauce, continue stirring on the sauté setting until most of the berries have broken down.
  • Like a chunkier cranberry sauce? Leave more whole berries intact.
  • Make this recipe up to 3 days in advance—the flavor improves as it chills.

Storage

Store leftover cranberry sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

It also freezes beautifully for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen cranberries?

Yes! Frozen cranberries work just as well. There’s no need to thaw them before pressure cooking.

Why do I add some cranberries at the end?

Adding a small portion of fresh cranberries after pressure cooking gives the finished sauce a more traditional homemade texture with whole berries throughout.

Can I make this without refined sugar?

You can reduce the sugar or substitute part of it with additional honey or maple syrup. Keep in mind the sweetness of cranberries varies, so taste and adjust as needed.

Can I make this ahead of Thanksgiving?

Absolutely! In fact, cranberry sauce tastes even better after chilling overnight, making it a perfect make-ahead holiday side dish.

This Ninja Foodi Cranberry Sauce proves that homemade holiday favorites don’t have to be complicated. With fresh cranberries, bright citrus, and just a few pantry staples, you’ll have a beautiful homemade cranberry sauce that’s ready in minutes and tastes every bit as good as the traditional stovetop version.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Cranberries, fresh
  • 2 1/2 tsp Orange Zest
  • 1/4 C Orange Juice
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1/2 - 1 C Sugar
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  • This recipe moves really quickly so I suggest doing a little prep work before you start.
First, wash your cranberries and remove any stems.  Set aside 2 ounces of the cranberries, about a 1/4 C
Take your orange and zest it until you have 2 1/2 tsp zest. Then take the same orange and juice it for 1/4 C juice.
Next, take your Ninja Foodi or a small bowl and combine the orange juice and honey. Stir until the honey is dissolved.  If you did this in a bowl, pour in to the Ninja Foodi.
Add the orange zest and 10 oz of cranberries to the Ninja Foodi.
Place the pressure cooking lid on the Ninja Foodi and pressure cook on high for 1 minute.
Let the Ninja Foodi do a natural release for 7 minutes then flip the valve to open and release the remaining pressure.
Remove the lid and set aside.
Turn the Ninja Foodi to saute. With a wooden spoon stir the cranberries and break them down.
Add in the 2 oz of cranberries you had set aside and the 1/2 c of sugar. Stir until dissolved. Taste the sauce and if it's not sweet enough add some more sugar until you like the flavor. You can also add a pinch of salt too.
You can serve the cranberry sauce warm or store in the fridge until you are ready to enjoy.
Quick and simple cranberry sauce in your Ninja Foodi! Perfect for the holidays.
