At the end of May we started to remodel our current home to make it more suitable for our living style. In theory this is a great plan! Everyone will have some privacy, the repairs that needed to be made would done and in the end hopefully bring a little harmony to our family. Well no one told us how much work, chaos and dusty this would be!
The first week of the remodel someone cut our phone line, satellite line and internet line! All in one day. We were out for about a week or a little more. It’s amazing when you have no access to any of those first world comforts you realize how much you use them and miss them. Our phone line was the first thing to be repaired. And then the internet has been spotty all summer. Hopefully next week that will change. As we are having a new router put in. It’ll be another two weeks before the satellite is fixed. I’m ok with that. We have our phones and iPad to watch shows on. But I sure will appreciate being able to sit on the couch and watch a movie with my daughter again!
Furniture. That’s another thing we have not had for two months! Just a mattress on the floor and laundry baskets full of our clothes. At first it didn’t bother me but now it’s wearing on me. The constant state of chaos we seem to be in is driving me nuts! I just keep telling myself that soon we will be finished. Soon we will have a beautiful home where we can all co-exist without being on top of one another. There’s a lot more to be done before we get there. And a lot of organizing, moving furniture back in and cleaning. But I’m hoping by Labor Day we are there.
So what does this mean for all you loyal readers? I will be back! Soon!! Very very soon. And I will be bringing you some amazing content, recipes, stories about our summer and adventures and Peyton’s first day at Kindergarten! So hang in there with me. I will be back to writing shortly.
