It’s been a while since I posted Peyton’s lunch for you all. But life has been crazy! Yes, I have been feeding her, I just have not been posting it. Today, I decided to get back in the routine. I still have pictures of all her Bento Box meals and I’ll try to get those up over the next few weeks or use them as fill-ins on the days she decides to take hot lunch. With the weathering taking a drastic dip, it feels like fall so I made more of a fall themed box today.
Our main entree is going to be a peanut butter and jelly leaf sandwich! Peyton is still obsessed with her PB&Js. I think it’s somewhat comical because there used to be a time I couldn’t get her to eat peanut butter no matter what I did. She would beg and beg for a jelly sandwich. Now, she begs for just a peanut butter sandwich! Times have changed. Because the leaf cutter made the sandwich so small I gave her two. I know it’s her favorite part of the meal so I wanted to make sure she got enough.
Another favorite of Peyton’s is pretzel sticks. She will eat a whole bag of pretzel sticks in a few days. Well, I managed to wrestle the bag away from her and throw a handful into her lunch this morning. I bet she’ll be surprised when she opens her lunch!
I haven’t used apple sauce in her lunch for a while. And with it being apple season I decided to put a little cinnamon apple sauce in her box. Yum! In full disclosure, I just squeezed it out of an applesauce pack. So, it really wasn’t that hard.
I tossed a little Babybel cheese in just to round out the meal and give her a little dairy. And I finished off with two caramel filled Hershey’s chocolate pumpkins. Everyone deserves a little treat!
I think it’s a well-rounded meal. I’m pretty sure Peyton is going to love it when she opens it up. Below is a list of items I used to make today’s lunch. Feel free to ask questions or suggest lunch ideas below.
