Ever since I took Peyton to Sea World a few years ago she has been obsessed with Penguins. The Penguin exhibit at Sea World is extraordinary and we both instantly fell in love with these adorable little guys. Today, I took a Penguin sandwich cutter and turned Peyton’s borging Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich into Penguin Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches! With the sandwich cutter I used I could get 2 penguins out of a regular sandwich.I was trying to make this bento box colorful so I opted to mix raspberries and blueberries together for her fresh fruit option. Plus this time of year they spoil so fast so I try to use them up pretty fast.
Peyton had been on a yogurt kick for the last week, today I switched it up with some cherry jello. I’m amazed at how well this travel for lunch.
I also added in a few Finding Dory Goldfish crackers. Peyton likes crunchy foods and everything else in the box is soft. Hopefully, this satisfies her need to crunch.
And for her treat, I threw in a few patriotic Skittles.
This lunch took me less than 10 minutes to pull together this morning. So for those thinking making a bento box lunch is a lot of work it really does not have to be. I buy the jello in premade cups which saves me time because I do not have to make it myself. And one cup is all I need in the box. The fresh berries were already washed and ready to go in the fridge. And I always have a few bags of treats and crackers sitting on the counter. The most time consuming part of this lunch was making the peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Here’s a link to a few of the items I used to make today’s bento box –
