I know we are still in summer but fall is just around the corner! Soon the temperatures will be cooling down and the leaves will start to change colors. The kids will be going back to school and we’ll be taking out our light jackets. Pumpkin Batch Blessing is a boardbook for little ones, that explores the blessings of fall.
Remember when you were little and jumping in a big pile of leaves was one of fall’s best activities? Or heading off to the pumpkin patch with your family to choose the perfect pumpkins? In Pumpkin Batch Blessing we get to tag along on a trip to the pumpkin patch!
Along the way to the pumpkin patch, the children point out the many blessings we have all around us. There’s the cooler temps that make the outdoors more enjoyable, crunchy leaves to walk across on the way to the pumpkin patch and all the pumpkins just sitting there, waiting to be picked!
Kim Washburn writes in a rhyming tone that is sure to engage young readers and listeners. Jacqueline East draws beautiful whimsical illustrations for little ones to gaze at while listening to the story.
I read Pumpkin Patch Blessings to my daughter (6 years old) and my nephew (2 years old), they both enjoyed the story. For my nephew, it was more about the illustrations, stopping on each page and exploring the picture, talking about what the children are doing and taking a moment to enjoy the work. For my daughter, she liked listening to the story and then talking about all the times we’ve gone to the pumpkin patch or her favorite fall activities. She also enjoyed the illustrations.
Pumpkin Patch Blessing is a board book which makes it perfect for preschoolers. But the book is also popular with the kindergatner/1st grade crowd too.
You can purchase your own copy of Pumpkin Patch Blessing August 1st at amazon or your local bookstore.
