Puppy Dog Pal fans rejoice! Disney Jrs Puppy Dog Pals was released last week on DVD! Now you can watch all your favorite Puppy Dog Pal episodes any time you want. We were going to have a few kiddos over this weekend and make have a little viewing party but Mother Nature had other plans. Who would’ve thought we would get a blizzard? In April? So there was no viewing party here but we made the best of our snowed in weekend. Instead, we made homemade puppy dog treats for our furry four-legged family members and watched Puppy Dog Pals as a family!
Peyton and I are huge fans of Puppy Dog Pals, we’ve been watching it since it first came out. It’s one of my go-to shows when Peyton needs to calm down and watch a wholesome show. Last week, when Peyt woke up from a bad dream I turned Puppy Dog Pals on and we watched it until she fell back to sleep. It’s just that kind of show. It’s wholesome, fun and captures kids attention.
For those of you not familiar with Puppy Dog Pals let me fill you in on it, just a little. There are two main characters, Bingo and Rolly, they are the cutest puppies and the stars of the show. Then there’s Bob, Bingo and Rolly’s owner. He’s always around but somehow always has to leave shortly into each episode and then Bingo and Rolly start their adventures. There’s also A.R.F., an artificial intelligence dog that Bob created to pick up after Bingo and Rolly after you’ve seen an episode you’ll see why Bob felt compelled to create A.R.F., those two can make one heck of a mess! Each episode we follow Bingo and Rolly as they explore the world around them and get into some crazy situations.
Since we couldn’t have any friends over I thought what better way to enjoy the release than to have a viewing party with our puppies! And every guest needs to have a treat so we made peanut butter dog biscuits for Finn and Mattie to enjoy while watching the show. They are really simple to make and perfect for little ones to help with.
Here’s a list of everything you’ll need –
2/3 Cup Pumpkin Puree
1/4 Cup Peanut Butter
2 large eggs
2.5 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
Parchment Paper
Baking Sheet
Electric Mixer with Paddle
Rolling Pin
Cookie Cutter
First, combine the peanut butter, eggs and pumpkin together until smooth. Then, with the paddle attachment start slowly adding the flour in making sure it is combined before adding more. You may use the full 2 1/2 cups or you may use more or less, you’ll know when the dough is no longer sticky that you’ve used enough flour.
Once your dough is ready, sprinkle some flour on the counter top and the rolling pin, roll out your dough until it’s about 1/4 inch thick. Then, take your cookie cutter and start cutting out biscuits!
Place the biscuits about 1 apart on the baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes based on how thick your biscuits are. You’ll know they are done when the edges are golden brown.
Remove from oven and let them cool completely. I did let Mattie and Finn have them when they were a little warm, I couldn’t take them looking at me any longer! So I caved and gave them each one. They loved them! They even came back for seconds but I was able to resist their big brown eyes and didn’t give in.
While the biscuits were baking we watched Puppy Dog Pals and it was just as good as I remember it. There are over 2 hours of Puppy Dog Pals on this DVD so we didn’t get to finish it before the treats were finished. But we finished watching it while we waited for them to cool down.
And for all the Puppy Dog Pal fans out there Disney has gone above and beyond making toys for everyone to enjoy. Peyton loves the Bingo and Rolly plush. She had them with her while we were watching this evening. And there even have a line of miniature figures! Peyton likes to play with those too, she uses her little doll house and re-creates episodes from the show with her figures. And there are tons of more Disney merchandise too, like Pjs and slippers and more!
Bring home Puppy Dog Pals today on DVD and enjoy them whenever you want to.
