Looking for a quick, simple, easy, yet impressive dessert dip? I have a delicious red velvet dip that is all that! Plus, you can make this to feed the masses or an intimate tray for two. It’s up to you. I like to make dessert dips when my nephews and niece come over because they are fun to eat and simple to make. The kids always devour the whole platter leaving nothing left but the crumbs.
To make this red velvet dip you will need the following –
8oz Whipped Topping
15oz Box Red Velvet Cake Mix
8oz Cream Cheese, room temp
1/4 Cup Milk
Sugar Pearls
Cookies, Strawberries, Wafers, Marshmallows
You will also need a small bowl to present your finished dip in and a platter or large plate for all the treats you want to dip in the dip.
In a microwave-safe bowl or plate, pour the cake mix and microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds. This is to heat treat the cake mix and make it safe to consume without baking.
In another large bowl combine the cream cheese, cake mix, cream cheese, and milk. Be sure to mix well until it’s all combined.
Once the dip is mixed well, scoop into the serving bowl and chill for about 15-30 minutes. I think it tastes best chilled.
Take the large plate or platter and arrange your treats on it leaving a space in the center for the dip. I use whatever we have around the house but some treats that go well are strawberries, vanilla wafers, butter cookies, shortbread cookies, graham crackers, marshmallows, sugar wafers or anything else you and your guest enjoy.
You can decorate the dip with little sugar pearls if you would like to.
