A few days go by and Bella’s father is shouting for everyone to come look. Bella and her mother hurried out on to the porch where they saw her father staring at the car in disbelief. That squirrel had been storing his nuts inside their car! Right there in front of them were dozens of nuts nicely stacked near the engine. That weird smell they had been smelling was the nuts roasting from the heat of the engine! Bella’s dad tells her the squirrel has got to go.
Bella is distraught about what may happen to the squirrel, Raphael. She loves all animals and cannot bear the thought of something happening to one. But her father has an idea! One that will make everyone happy. By the end of the story Raphael has a new home, full of nuts and Bella’s family has a working car.
Erin M. Garcia did a wonderful job bringing the story of Bella and Raphael to life. The illustrations are beautiful and the story line flows seamlessly. My daughter really enjoyed listening to Raphael Finds a Home. I feel it’s a story many families can relate to.
