On the Road with Extended Stay America

This post is sponsored by Coupons.com. All opinions are 100% my own.

This past fall we did a lot of traveling. Remember when we headed to South Dakota for the week? Or down to Chicago for the weekend? Or Florida for nearly two weeks? One of my biggest expenses on every one of those trips was food. Yes, food was a big part of our budget for every trip. One way to save some money on the meal budget is finding a hotel that has a kitchen in it. Extended Stay America could have saved me a bundle on any one of those trips.

Did I tell you that one of our lunches in South Dakota was over $50! And do you know what we had? Hot dogs, potato chips, drinks (like milk and tea) and 1 of us had ice cream. So, to feed 4 people it was $50. Just think of all the money I could have saved if we had been staying at Extended Stay America and I had made lunch for us there. That $50 could have easily covered 3 or more meals.

Each room at Extended Stay America includes a fully-equipped kitchen with a stove, microwave, and refrigerator. That can save you a bunch of money which means you can extend your trip longer. On our South Dakota adventure we spent an average of $125 a day on food. If we had been staying at the Extended Stay American I could have cut that expense substantially.

Another benefit of staying at Extended Stay America is on-site guest laundry! No more lugging a suitcase full of dirty, stinky clothes around with you. No more trying to find a “good” laundromat to do those stinky clothes. Have you ever tried to find a laundromat on vacation? That can be an adventure in itself.

And if you like to travel with pooches, Extended Stay America will welcome them too! At every Extended Stay America, there are pet-friendly rooms. You can bring your cat or dog along for family vacations! No more stress about how they are doing at home or paying for expensive kennel fees. Be sure to check out their pet policy before your next family vacation to see if you can include the family pets in your next trip.
