We are a fairly active family. That means, sometimes we are hiking or walking in areas that are not heavily populated or traveled. With the world the way it is today it is always on the back of my mind what if. What if someone tried to run up and take our backpack. Or what if someone tried to mess with us while we are camping, hiking or just getting in our car. It’s sad that those thoughts even cross my mind but they do. Sabre Red has made a Pepper Gel that also has UV marking dye.
It’s very easy to use and even has a strap so you can secure it to your hand. So if you are going for a run, through a park, simply velcro the Sabre on before you start. Then if anything happens it’s right there at your fingertips. Plus, it can’t be knocked out of your hands if you become startled. Before you take your first run with it you should try using it. Make sure to be outside when you practice! You do not want this getting all over your home. Point it towards the ground and give a test spray so you can feel what it’s like to use it. And to make sure the pepper gel is working.
Now, if you ever have to use this, be sure to spray your assailant from ear to ear. Why? There’s a UV gel in this pepper spray. The assailant will wash his face but he’s not going to think about washing his ears. So it is more likely to be on him when he’s caught. Also, once the assailant is dealing with his eyes be sure to aim for the nose and mouth. They will be so concerned with trying to make it stop they will leave. This Pepper Gel will reach up to 10 feet away! But if it’s windy make sure you cover your own mouth, nose and eyes to help avoid getting the gel sprayed on you.
Why use pepper gel over pepper spray? You are more likely to avoid back spray when dealing with wind and less likely to accidently spray innocent bystanders. The gel is more concentrated and sticks to the assailant.
Sabre Red Pepper Gel is available at your local sporting/hunting goods store or online.
