Spice Up Any Meal with Great American Spice Co

I am always looking for ways to bring a fun, healthy, flavorful meal to the dinner table. Great American Spice Company does a fantastic job at carrying a wide selection of spices for any dish.  I spent a fair amount of time browsing the selection of spices and trying to settle on some I wanted to try out. It was a hard decision! There are so many to choose from. But I finally settled on The Great American Spice Co. Chicago Steak Seasoning, Angus Steak Seasoning, Prime Steak Seasoning and Poultry Seasoning. I love to grill and all these spices are perfect for using on the grill.

Now with summer coming to end and school starting next week I am also looking for ways to make healthy dinners with limited time. For me, that means the grill. I can grill up some chicken, turkey. steak or hamburger meat in a few minutes, with minimal mess, add a bag of steamed veggies and side salad in a less than 20 minutes. A healthy, well balanced meal in less than 30 minutes.

I chose to test out a variety of steak seasonings because I was curious just how different they where. Well they are completed different!

Angus Steak Seasoning
The Angus seasoning is a coarsely ground season. You can see the salt grains, pepper, dill, paprika and other seasonings.  I like how I can also use this on other meats and vegetables to give them a twist.

Chicago Steak Seasoning
The Chicago seasoning is a blend of finely ground and medium ground spices. It’s full of salt, black pepper, sugar, garlic and more. The Chicago seasoning is recommended for steaks, hamburgers and ribs. In my opinion, the taste is a little sweeter so it probably would not work well with veggies.

Prime Steak Seasoning
The Prime seasoning is a finely ground season. Definitely a very finely ground blend of salt, pepper, paprika and other premium spices. This one can be used on any meat and also added to soy sauce to make a marinade.

I decided to try out all three spices in one grilling session and then have a little taste off. Each of the steak seasonings were completely different to work with. The Prime Steak Seasoning is ground so fine that I found myself rubbing it into the steak just to makes sure it would have a nice coating. The Chicago Steak Seasoning I rubbed in too, but not nearly as much as it’s a blend of medium to finely ground seasons. And the Angus Steak Seasoning I simply shook out of the bottle on to the steak. As you can see each spice looks completely different.

When the grilling was done I brought them all into the house. The way I kept the spices in order was to season the steaks alphabetically. So when you are looking at the picture above the seasonings go in this order – Angus, Chicago and Prime.

Each steak was extremely flavorful! And different. Not one steak tasted like the other. My favorite was the Prime Steak Seasoning, which really surprised me. I normally like spices that are ground more coarsely.

The Great American Spice Company carries more than just spices. They have salts, dried soups, oils, marinades and so much more. Right now you can head on over and receive 10% off  your total order AND free shipping for orders over $65! But be sure you set aside time before you shop. Trust me, you will spend a lot of time looking over all the options. And if you are anything like me, it will be difficult to choose. With all those options you will find yourself coming back again and again to keep ordering.
