State Fair Classic Milk Chocolate Fudge

One of our must-stops, when we visit the Minnesota State Fair, is the fudge booth. We always have to stop and get a sample or two and then buy a few pounds to bring home with us. Peyton was bummed when she realized there would be no fudge booth to close out the summer this year. So, today we are sharing a classic milk chocolate fudge recipe that we would normally find at our favorite fudge booth at the Minnesota State Fair.

Classic Milk Chocolate FudgeTo make a batch of State Fair Classic Milk Chocolate Fudge you will need the following –

24 ounces of Milk Chocolate
28 ounces Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Here’s your first tip, you are going to want to stir the chocolate as it’s melting non-stop, otherwise, it’ll burn to the bottom of the pan.

Prep your 9×9 pan by spraying the pan with non-stick cooking spray, then line it with parchment paper. This will make it much easier to remove from the pan when it’s time to slice the fudge.

In a medium saucepan combine the sweetened condensed milk, salt, and chocolate.  Heat over low heat, continuously stirring it as it melts.

Once the chocolate has melted, remove from heat, still in vanilla extract.

Pour into your prepped pan and let cool.

Classic Milk Chocolate FudgeIf you live in a humid or hot climate you may need to place the fudge in the refrigerator to firm up.

Classic Milk Chocolate FudgeOnce firm, slice in to bite-size pieces and enjoy!

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow to see what Minnesota State Fair inspired food we are making. Also, be sure to check out our other state fair recipes.
