We are nearing the end with our Minnesota State Fair inspired recipes. So far, we’ve shared 3 weeks of recipes with you, everything from fresh-squeezed lemonade to deep-fried candy bars. Today, we are making State Fair Deep Fried Cookie Dough! We are going to use edible cookie dough for this recipe. And I’m also taking some short cuts and using premade edible cookie dough too. We used chocolate chip edible cookie dough but you can use whatever your favorite edible cookie dough flavor is.
To make these State Fair Deep Fried Cookie Dough at home you will need the following –
Edible Cookie Dough
Biscuit Dough
Oil
Pour the oil in your deep fryer and set the temperature for 375 degrees.
Shape the edible cookie dough into 1 inch balls and set aside.
Separate the biscuit dough into the individual biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces.
Roll the biscuit dough out.
Place a cookie dough ball in the center of the rolled out biscuit dough and wrap it around the dough. Roll the biscuit dough until you have covered the cookie dough.
Be sure to seal the biscuit dough so that there is no exposed cookie dough.
Gently place a few of the cookie dough balls into the heated oil.
Cook for 1-2 minutes per side.
Once the balls are golden brown, remove from the oil and place on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
These are best served warm.
