State Fair Peach Lemonade

Whenever we go to the Minnesota State Fair, having fresh-squeezed lemonade is a must. It’s one of the first things we look for once we pass through the gates. But sometimes, at various state fairs, you can find flavored lemonades.  So, today we are going to make peach lemonade. It still starts with the fresh-squeezed lemons for the base but now we are going to give it a little twist with peaches.

Peach LemonadeTo make a batch of State Fair Peach Lemonade you will need the following –

3 large Peaches
1 C Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice – 5-8 large lemons
1 C Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
4 C Water

This is a two-step recipe.

First, juice your lemons. Be sure to strain it for seeds and set aside.

Next, slice up your peaches and remove the skin from them.

In a medium saucepan, add the sliced peaches, sugar, vanilla extract and 2 C of water.

Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce to a simmer and let the peaches simmer until they are soft. About 5-10 minutes depending on how ripe your peaches are.

Next, strain you peach mixtures in to a pitcher.  You can use the peaches in the lemonade if you would like. We did!

Add in the lemon juice and 2 C of water, stir well.

Place in the fridge to chill.

Once the peach lemonade is chilled you are ready to enjoy!

Peach LemonadeThis peach lemonade is a very mild lemonade. The peaches seem to take the pucker out of the lemonade so it’s very kid-friendly.

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow to see what Minnesota State Fair inspired food we are making. Also, be sure to check out our other state fair recipes.
