Stay Hydrated this Spring

Spring is right around the corner. I know here in the midwest we are going to be in the 50s this weekend! With warm weather, I start thinking about getting in shape for summer. And one of the ways to get in shape is to be hydrated. You cannot be healthy if you are dehydrated. To be hydrated, they say you need to drink 80 ounces of water a day. That ‘s a lot of water! And I don’t know about you, but I get bored with plain water fairly quickly. Brieftons glass water bottles can help solve the boredom. With these water bottles, I can make water infused with fruits and keep them in my fridge ready to go.

Breifton Glass Water BottlesWhen you are making infused waters, remember they have to be consumed fairly quickly. With some fruits, you don’t want to let them sit for longer than 48 hours or they can start to turn.

Here’s one of my favorite fruit infused recipes –

Blackberry  Mint Infused Water

There really is no set recipe for this. Buy some fresh blackberries and mint at the grocery store. I like to make this in a large pitcher and then pour it into the individual bottles. First, take a handful of berries and crush them. This will help give the water a little color and instant flavor. Then you can take the mint and either rub it in your hand breaking open the leaves or chop it up. Really it’s personal preference. I like to mix this together and then pour it into the glass bottles until they are about 3/4th full. Then I add a few more whole blackberries, seal the bottle and set in the fridge. This is one that tastes better if it sits overnight but if you need it right away you can drink it in as soon as 2 hours.

You can also use the glass bottles to pour your smoothie in and take it on the go. There are so many uses for them. I also like how the bottles are reusable and because they are glass you do not need to worry about them absorbing odors or becoming discolored.

You can purchase your own 6 pack of Briefton glass water bottles on amazon.
