Today we are making Strawberry Margarita Jello Shots! Normally I share cocktail recipes but today I thought I would mix it up and share a jello shot recipe. You can also make this non-alcoholic for the kiddos. Just replace the alcohol with water.
Jello Shots are fun and not something you normally have every day. They work well for bringing a dish to share at a BBQ. You can make them ahead of time. And they travel well.
To make a batch of Strawberry Margarita Jello Shots you will need the following –
Strawberry Jello
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Tequila
Salt
Condiment Plastic Cups
Strawberries & Limes for Garnish
First, you are going to bring a cup of water to a boil. You can do this on the stove or in the microwave.
Then pour the strawberry jello into a bowl.
When the water is boiling pour 1 cup of boiling hot water over the jello and stir until dissolved.
Pour 1 cup of Tequila into the bowl and stir well.
Fill each plastic cup about 3/4 of the way full.
Place the cover on the condiment cup and place it in the fridge to set up. This will take a few hours.
Before serving, cover the edges of the condiment cup in salt. You can use colored salt for this too.
To cover the edges I like to take a small plate with just a little bit of water and another small plate with salt. Carefully roll the edges of the condiment cup in the water and then immediately roll it in salt. You want the edges damp, not dripping wet. Otherwise, the salt will run down the side of the cup.
Garnish each cup with strawberries and limes.
Enjoy!
