The first of the year is nearly here and for us, that means meatless Mondays will soon be back in the rotation. Here is a great cookbook filled with tons of meatless options that are still packed with protein and flavor. The Dirty Vegan Cookbook by Catherine Gill has taken some of your favorite recipes and shows you how to make them vegan style.
he Dirty Vegan is filled full of recipes from breakfast to snacks to main dishes that are sure to please the family. Gill claims that you cannot even tell there are no animal products in these recipes. While I am skeptical of that I will give it a go. We do plan on making several dishes out of this cookbook after the 1st of the year.
I really like how Gill tells us what made her become Vegan and about her journey. She was raised in a home of Omnivores but she questioned the food that was served to her as young as 4 years old. By the time she was a teenager, she was a vegetarian. And during her college years, she became a vegan. It’s always been her passion to help inspire those around her to be healthier. Gill enjoys sharing her recipes with those around her to show them you don’t have to sacrifice flavor to be a vegan. There are so many options and alternatives out there that nearly any dish that is made with animal products can be made without and taste just as good.
Inside the cover of The Dirty Vegan, you will find recipes like berry lemon crumble loaf for breakfast as well as a chickenless salad for lunch. There are also cookies, cakes and other tasty treats to help you celebrate those special milestones and events in your life.
