The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar

Have you heard?! Recently I was watching Disney Jr with Peyton and we say a commercial for The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar. We are HUGE Lion King fans so I instantly tuned in and took it all in. All the characters where babies! And oh so cute! But the one thing I noticed was how these babies had the same characteristics and personalities as their parents. Remember those hyenas? Well, they are there, in baby form!

Now at first I was a tad confused. If I remembered my Lion King lore correctly, Nala and Simba had a girl. So when I saw this boy lion, claiming to be Simba’s son I was a tad confused. But then I found out Simba and Nala has another cub. And you guess it, the cub was a baby boy they named Kion. Kion is a lot like his father, running around and playing with his friends and acting fearless.

Kion is to grow up and lead the Lion Guard but he’s not big on traditions. Just like his father, Kion prefers to hang out with those he deems have the qualities the Lion Guard needs and being a lion is not one of the requirements.

I don’t want to give the whole series away. But I will tell you, what I have seen so far is adorable! I cannot wait for the premier this Sunday night, November 22nd on Disney at 7:00 pm ET. I know Peyton and I will be tuning in. And in early 2016 there will be a series! I’m extremely excited about the series. Another wonderful Disney show that my daughter can watch after school.

Here’s the trailer so you can see just how funny, entertaining and amazing the Lion Guard is.

So don’t forget to tune in the Sunday night and watch the premier of The Lion Guard. If you miss it you can catch it Monday, November 23rd on the Disney Jr Ap, Disney Channel on Demand and Disney Jr Channel on Demand.
