They have been begging their parents for months to sleep in the tree house. Finally the night had come. Zach was extremely excited, he packed all his things and headed to the backyard. When Zach and Zoey first set up their gear they are both excited. But as the night draws near Zach starts to feel a little uneasy. As the sun disappears more and more shadows appear, along with strange noises. Zach is scared!
Zach tried to persuade Zoey to moving the sleepover indoors. But everything he tries doesn’t’ work. Zoey is having a blast and has no fear. So Zach makes up an excuse to go inside for some snacks. While Zach is inside he heads upstairs and gets the Moodsters. He needs help working through this situation. The Moodsters spring to action, they identify Zach’s feelings and give him a Moodsters flashlight.
This time the Moodsters and Zach head back to the tree house to see if they can identify and work through the emotions Zach is feeling. As they walk through the back yard with the Moodsters Flashlight Zach realizes the scary sounds are really just normal sounds in the dark. When they arrive at the tree house Zoey is still inside, patiently waiting. Zach has over come his fears and learned to identify his new feelings. What was once a sleepover with Zach and Zoey has now turned into a huge sleepover with the Moodsters!
My little one is scared of sleepovers and I think this is a wonderful book to help her conquer her fears. It’s also a great book for children that are scared of the dark. To pick up your own copy of The Scary Sleepover head over to Target.
