The Stable Cat’s Christmas by Christina S Vrba

Children love reading stories, they love animals and they love the holidays. The Stable Cat’s Christmas takes all three of those and rolls them into one for a sure-fire hit with your little. Geared towards children 5 -8 years old or Pre-K to 3rd grade, you can either read this book to your child or have your older child read the book to you. It’s a great way to spend a little time together during this hectic holiday season.

The Stable Cat's ChristmasIn The Stable Cat’s Christmas, we see the birth of Jesus through the stable cat’s eyes. The cat may have missed the actual birth, but when she arrives home to her beloved stable she finds a man, woman, and newborn baby. As all the other animals tell the stable cat about the gifts they gave to the new king she starts to feel sad. She is but a stable cat with nothing to give. Or so she thought! But when the new king shivers she knows exactly what to do. She jumps up and curls around him offering her warmth. The stable cat learns that she has the best gift to give after all, herself.

The baby was so happy to warm and was curious about this animal laying with him. His little fingers explored the stable cat’s soft fur. And when the stable cat looked at her fur she was surprised. For everywhere the baby had touched she now had stripes!  And so this is how the first tabby came to be known.

The Stable Cat’s Christmas is a cute story that little ones will love. I love the messages being told in this story. No matter your size or stature, everyone has a gift, you just need to look inside yourself. I also like how they explain where tabby cats come from. We have a few tabby’s and Peyton’s eyes lit up when she heard that part of the story.

You can find The Stable’s Cat Christmas at your local retailer or online.
