I have been saying for the last year that I am going to loose the weight. But I haven’t. In fact, I’ve gained 20 more pounds since I said I was going to loose the weight a year ago! A year ago I bought a fitbit and was determined to start my weight loss journey. But after about 2 months I misplaced the fitbit and that was the end of that.
I do lead a fairly healthy and active lifestyle. But even with doing 5ks and eating what I thought was healthy I was still having issues losing the weight. The tipping point for me was when we went to Disney World this past fall. Last time we had gone I was about 30 lbs lighter and I could tell the difference. It was harder to get around when it came to walking all day. I was tired quicker. I felt like the extra weight was putting a damper on our dream mommy and daughter vacation. I had even splurged on first class tickets this time down and I still felt squished. All those things confirmed what I already knew. I needed to loose weight.
When we got back from Florida I vowed the weight was coming off. I got through the holidays and started to make a game plan. I knew I needed help. I knew I needed support. I needed someone to help guide me through this life change and help me when I stall out. Give me those words of encouragement. And I also needed help keeping Peyton on a healthy lifestyle too.
So I decided to partner with Nutrisystem to get myself healthier. Today is my first day on Nutrisystem. I’ll admit, it’s stressful. I’m going from eating whatever I want whenever I want to being held accountable. I live with a 6-year-old, she doesn’t understand how a diet works. So I’m glad I have a counselor at Nutrisystem that does understand and can help me navigate the waters.
This morning I got on the scale and weighed myself. First time I had done it in months. I knew my clothes were tight but I didn’t want to know the number. I weighed in at 226.6 lbs! That is the heaviest I have ever been. Even when I was pregnant with Peyton I didn’t weigh that much. Seeing that number just made me more determined to start today.
So this morning I gathered up my food for the day and I headed off to work. It was weird not stopping at the gas station and grabbing my bagel and soda. That has been my routine for the past few months. I know bagels are not healthy but it is simple and fit in my schedule.
I know today is going to be tough. I know I have some bad habits to break. No matter how hard today is I know it is all worth it. I’ll be sharing my weight loss journey with you all. And I’m going, to be honest. I’ll admit when it’s hard, when something doesn’t taste good or when I’m having an awesome day or discovered a tip that works for me. I’ll also share how I keep Peyton on track with eating fresh foods while I’m doing Nutrisystem. I know, that was a big obstacle for me when losing weight. What was Peyton going to eat? Was it going to end up all processed foods and pizza? No, no it won’t. I have a plan on how to keep my little precious eating healthy while I’m on this journey. If you have questions feel free to post them below. I’ll answer every single one. Or feel free to message me at Shanna@PeytonsMomma.com. This is a journey and I’m sure we’ll be on it for a while. I didn’t get this way overnight and I don’t expect it to be correct overnight.
Tonight I’ll be posting an update on how the day went. So be sure to check back. It won’t be till late.
