Toll Roads No Problem with the FastToll App

Peyton and I are in the Chicago area at least every other month. But I don’t want to invest in an I-Pass because I don’t need it in Minnesota. And Illinois is really the only place that we travel that has toll roads. But stopping at all those toll roads adds on travel time. That’s more time being cramped up in a car. Plus you have to have exact change at some of the tolls because they are automated. Last year I heard about this new app call FastToll. Now, it only works in Illinois so you won’t be able to use it other states. But it does save me time and frustration when we’re traveling.

FastToll AppThe FastToll app works for iOS and Android, simply go to the app store and search FastToll App and install it. I will warn you it does use up your data when you are using so keep it turned off if you are not on the tollway. When you are about to get on the tollway, simply open the app and turn it on. Then you can go through the I-PASS lanes without having to stop! FastToll will keep track of every tollway you go through with a log of the time, place and amount owed. Then when you’re ready, open FastToll and make a payment. Remember, tolls are due within 7 days of driving through them. So be sure to go in and pay them within 7 days. Otherwise, you’ll be getting a letter in the mail from Illinois with a bill for not only the unpaid tolls but also a fine.

FastToll AppWhen you are ready to pay your tolls be sure to have your license plate and credit card handy. You’ll open the FastToll App and fill out your personal information like name, address and license plate. Then when it’s time to process, enter your credit card info and email and they’ll send you a receipt.

It makes traveling in Illinois for out of state people much easier. I don’t have to worry about the amount of cash or coins I have with me and I don’t have to stop to pay a toll. I can just keep on going!

FastToll AppThere is a small fee to use FastToll. It’s a percentage of your total tolls. But if you want to avoid the fees simply log on to the Illinois Tollway and input your stops and pay there. It’s up to you. I like to keep it simple and just leave it in the app. It’s never been more than a $1.50 for all my tolls so I don’t mind paying that small amount for convenience.
