We still have that smashed loaf of bread so as I’m still making “sushi” sandwiches for Peyton. Today I decided to use some thinly sliced turkey breast and thinly sliced Colby Jack cheese for the filling. Because you are rolling the bread you only need one or two slices of turkey and a slice of cheese. If you put too much in, you won’t be able to roll it and it’ll fall apart. Once you have the bread rolled take a sharp knife and slice the roll into 3-5 pieces depending on size of bento box and roll. Immediately place them into the bento box or they may start to unroll.
We had gone strawberry picking so I had some strawberries with sugar sitting in the fridge. I decided to use those for Peyton’s fruit choice.
The large well is perfect for so many food items! But I chose to do some vanilla and chocolate pudding. Actually, this is a pudding cup that I just scooped out with a spoon and put into the Bento box.
For a little crunch, I added in some Finding Dory Gold Fish crackers and some trail mix. Peyton had decided to get into the trail mix and eat all the M&Ms so now she only has nuts and raisins to munch on.
This meal is always a hit with Peyton. Everything is in little portions so she gets a nice variety. I like it because it’s healthier than what she would be served at school. Plus she is getting fresh foods!
Here’s some links to what I used to help with today’s Bento Box –
