Woot! Woot! Even though I partied like a rockstar over the weekend, by party like a rockstar I mean threw a party for a 7-year-old and a surprise party for my sister in law, I still managed to lose weight! I will admit, Saturday I fell off the wagon. I was going from sun up to sun down prepping for 2 parties and throwing both of them on the same day but I did my best. Yes, I ate off Nutrisystem but I made healthy choices.
At my daughter’s party, there was cake and oh how I wanted some! But I didn’t cave. I knew we had a lot to do and I didn’t want to get bogged down with sugar crash. At the other party, I did the menu so it was easy to keep it on track for me. We had grilled chicken breasts with a spicy rub. It was so good! And because it was super spicy I found it easy to drink a lot of water with dinner. I wasn’t crazy about the cake at this party so I opted for a fresh slice of watermelon to get my sweet fix. But I did slack off on the vegetables. But it’s ok.
I am not perfect. No one is. There are going to be days on your weight loss plan that things do not go as planned. You may find yourself out running 500 errands and discovering you have no snacks in your purse! So you do the best you can and find as close as you can to plan. And when I find that I went off plan I drink extra water and try to take an extra walk. Then let it go. LET. IT. GO. Dwelling on eating off plan is not going to help you or anyone else. It’s just going to lead you down a slippery slope where you feel guilty and may end up really going on a food bender.
On Saturday, in between parties, we ended up at White Castle. Guess what? It’s not on plan. It’s not even in the book! But I opted for a regular burger, no fries, and a small sprite. I just needed something to get me from party A to party B because I had forgotten to pack food for me in my bag. I had left it on the counter at home! But no need for a meltdown. I just made the best choice I could with where we were at. And when it came time to track it in my food journal I was honest. I owned those calories but I didn’t let guilt or disappointment own me. I made sure I kept moving until I had burned 1,000 more calories than I had consumed that day.
We are all going to have those days where we eat off plan or we eat a few more calories than our plan allows. But the trick is to own it without getting down on yourself. You need to move on and not let it derail you.
On Sunday I started fresh. It was a new day and I worked my plan. Even though it was Mother’s Day I still enjoyed a nice breakfast with my daughter. I had the Nutrisystem French Toast with a scrambled egg on the side. White my daughter had French Toast with a side of berries. It was beautiful breakfast. Then we spent the day gardening and planting our vegetable garden.
Nutrisystem has taught me a lot over the past few weeks. I’ve learned not to beat myself up if I’m not perfectly on plan every single day. It has shown me that drinking massive amounts of water does wonders for my skin. And it’s gotten me to be more engaged. I’m not just rushing from place to place, I am now present when I am somewhere and enjoying the moment. I don’t rush through meal time, I now take the time to enjoy my meal and engage in conversation with my daughter. It’s really giving me perspective about slowing down and enjoying life.
If you are ready to slow down and enjoy life while trying to drop a few pounds, check out Nutrisystem. It’s really made a difference in my life.
